xTranslate is a modern book translation editor. It pairs an English source text on the left with an editable translation on the right, so translators can read and write in one workspace instead of juggling documents, tabs, and machine-translation websites.
Mission and purpose
Books are long, and translating them is slow, careful work. General-purpose translation tools are built for snippets, not chapters. xTranslate exists to give book translators a workspace shaped around their actual job: moving through pages, keeping terminology consistent, and reviewing every sentence against its source.
Context first
Translation quality comes from context. The source and the translation are always visible together, sentence by sentence.
Provider independence
No single translation engine fits every book. The editor works the same no matter which provider does the translating.
Private by design
Translation API keys stay on the server and are never exposed to the browser.
Who builds xTranslate
xTranslate is an independent project by a small team working on translation tooling. We design and build the editor ourselves, from the two-panel workspace to the server-side translation and subscription systems, and we improve it around real translating workflows rather than feature lists.
